Well I'm officially taking it in the bum at work. I have to go to Halifax for 5 days after my 5 day trip to North Sydney, Nova Scotia.

Hopefully we can arrange another one. Perhaps every 3 months or something. God knows there's enough people dumping crap up there to warrant it.
 
Hi all!

Just got back from up there today. took out a load and raked up a bunch of piles of shells. wow barely made a dent. good luck on the 3rd, I piled up some shells at the shooting area just past the second bridge, should be easy enough to shovel up. Post pics of your efforts and hopefully we can make this a regular event!

Hi Akash, sounds good..Nice going. Couldn't make today as was called out on work, but its a start. Can I get a trailer up to where you were..??
I'll be there 10am Sunday 3rd and I'll have letters for anyone who comes so no charge for dumping at Mission municipal site..If anyone else is familiar with the area, perhaps suggest a meeting point..??

You can get a trailer most places up silvester.
How about a place with coffee?

Great..I'll bring a high sided trailer. Don't know a coffee place locally, but open to suggestions...Most shops are the other side of Mission or in the town..
 
Is this around the Devils Lake area?

Or north of it?

Never been there but looking at it on Google Maps Earth now.

Any GPS Coordinates?

Devils lake is on the west of Stave, the cleanup is up Sylvester road on the east side of Stave Lake. Not sure if the west side even needs a cleanup...
 
Hi guys
Just a quick reminder to all those who said 'yes' and to those who were thinking about it, please come and help out at Sylvester Rd this Sunday (3rd) around 10am to carry on with a clean-up Akash from Blue Line started last Monday. Whether its just an hour or whatever, it seems like anything we can do will be of benefit to the area. As mentioned before, any rubbish we dump at the Mission municipal site will be FOC....

Being part of the Association I thought to share - not to hijack but clean ups are great for everyone - and the more hands the better...

FYI - 4WDABC: (4 Wheel Drive Association of British Columbia)

We have a regular monthly clean up at a few locations we monitor (Hail Creek / Sunrise Lake / Kenyon Lake). Also yearly there is an East Stave and West Stave Cleanup that is organized. The days dump fees are free donated by the City of Mission and there are a ton of supporters from all walks that come out (ATV, 4x4, bike, dirt biking, locals). There are extremely large bins, dump trucks and machinery, food coffee that have helped out every year. There are even Prizes at the end of the day. Come on out it's always a good day, and at the Stave clean ups for the past 3-4 years the tonnage removed keeps going up dramatically - a few very large bins get filled minimum each time and many cars get hauled out too !!

Nice one..Meet you at the start of the gravel road around 10-10.15....I'll be pulling a 'Jims Mowing' trailer..Tomorrow's forecast looks better...Bring a rake/shovel/bags/ gloves if you've got them (and whatever you wanna shoot)
 
I went out to Sylvester road for my first time today. Shot my Russian SKS for the first time as well.

I won't be able to make it out for the cleanup tomorrow, but I did pick up a bag of garbage, would have got more but I wouldn't have what to do with it!

The sink was mine, haha.

After the first fork, I stayed to the right and it was the first spot to your left where I did some shooting. Going further north that way there is snow. I am not sure where you guys would be doing the cleanup, just thought I would give a heads up.
