Sylvester road cleanup!

So when are we going again?

Hi Tiny Tim...I'll not be around for a couple of weekends, but feel free to throw some dates out there and check the response....I'm not bringing the trailer next time (less garbage to load = more time to shoot) Enjoyed it last time though...:)

Keep in mind I believe the 4WDABC has there cleanup this month I believe. Have to double check. When they do a clean up there's a very large group of people that show up so there may not be much left to do.

The wife and I were up there on the 21st and it was a pigsty.

We are both new into shooting and drive a lowered truck so there is not many places we can get into so, if this gets shut down it hurts us more than someone with a 4x4 that can go deeper in.

Snapped a few pics with the phone and should have done one of the ground we were standing on, it was 90% shotgun shells.

Maybe an idea for those that think it is too much work to pick up after themselves is when you are there to shoot throw down a ground cover that catches the shells, then it's a fold up and go, no garbage left.

At any rate when someone starts this up for a group cleanup and if it is on the weekend count both the wife and I in to help.
We just may need a lift to help get at the deeper in spots.

Holy crap. That's an area I haven't been to yet. Sylvester is in need of some serious help.

We were up the gravel road but not really that far in, it wasn't too bad for a lowrider as long as I went slower and navigated the potholes.

Just be careful you don't go,past the provincial park sign not far in and shoot between that and the boundary sign further on. The RCMP and CO's have been up there handing out tickets for illegal shooting and motor vehicle use within the Davis Lake Provincial Park Limits.

Are you sure you havent been there? Because that looks like "little iraq" where everyone goes to shoot and seldom clean up. If you wheel stave you have to drive right by it every time. I try not to shoot there anymore, awhile back my brother and I got hit with some pelets when someone followed a clay toward us and practically shot right at us.

No worries, we both haven't got anything to shoot yet, they are on the way with the paperwork.
When we went up there we were not expecting to see what we saw, if I had known I would have been more prepared with a steel rake and garbage bags.

Lets just hope some bureaucrat doesn't get up there and have the same reaction I did before it gets cleaned up.

I may go up there on the 28th if the weather isn't too bad and take a bag or so out, depends if mother nature will let me in far enough.

Yup its a mess, when i shoot there i bring a few extra garbage bags and fill them up, barely makes a dent though so its somewhat discouraging. Im sure if half the people that shoot there took a few bags out each time it would look a lot better.

I know I've passed it, just never stopped and shot there. Doesn't look familiar.
