Syn stock for a ruger #1

Okay..............we're waiting.........

A little hang time on that one... hard on a guy with a "patience" issue...

1. The cigarette on the horn, in a mountainous terrain... I can almost hear the wheezing in the still photo.

2. That abomination of a plastic stock on the No.1... which is why we are here.

;)

He is still firmly ensconced in the sea can, as #1 son has not seen fit to ship them yet.............

SB, the trophy room is now complete just awaiting the arrival of all my boys so they can be placed in their new resting places forever...........or at least as long as I have left.........

Well Hoyt, no more wheezing as I finally gave it up last fall and the plastic stock.........oh well, it's just a handle right........

Good job on the ram... and on kicking the smokes... now if I can just lose 30 pounds...

That is an utterly exceptional ram Douglas, even neater that it was done with a No.1.

There is nothing wrong with synthetics on a #1.......It was the least expensive way as the previous owner had butchered the original wood and I found this set at the local gunshow in Whitehorse for 100 bucks. Made a good serviceable hunting rifle in 7mm-300 Wby with 3.5-10 Leupold and a 28" Bevan King barrel installed by Bevan.

Gotta love the signature smoke in your trophy photos!

An amazing ram, as Ardent mentioned there are so many in this world who would pay an absurd amount of money to be put on a Ram like that. We are truly blessed with some of the hunting opportunities in this country.

Geez the fudd is strong in here. Tweed and walnut for all! I'm sure the op wouldn't be so critical of half your guys beer guts or wife's flabby tits. Why so critical of him wanting to replace a punched out stock with a durable replacement. It's not like he's gonna rattle bomb camo a pre 64 m70.How often are any of you gonna have to stare at it in disgust? #### I'd do it just too post pics and bump the thread over and over just for you guys :) By the way hoytcannon, the beer gut comment wasn't directed at you, I hadn't even seen your post. Quite ironic.

lol..... I do get your point...... And it's not necessarily fudissm....

Certain guns are designed a certain way..... They are meant to be "traditional" firearms....... The handi rifle pretty much ate up the cheap plastic stock single shot market in my opinion......

I did mention our fair program of by the pound hunter surcharging right? The first 200lbs are free!

That barely scratches the surface... but of course, you took that into consideration in your pricing... with any luck, I'll have a heart attack at the summitt.

I do agree, it's just a little fuddy to me, especially with the rcmp having power of classification again, it's threads like these that show how very evident the major split in firearm owners can be. Take sxs for example. For a few reasons i'll never again hunt with one, rifle or shotgun. I would however defend to the end your right to have and too like them. Id hope others would do the same, it seems not.

No worries.... I own a few rifles that make "antis" cringe...... My scout has rails and a ten round mag (oh no!).... I have a mini 14 I plink with..... (Oh no!).....

I also own restricteds..... (Oh no, an H&k p30!..... That is military grade)......

It's not about fuddly with me.....but certain firearms are designed for certain things..... IMOP, a plastic stock on a number one has no more place than a wood stock would have on an ar15....

And yet I know those are made too.....

I think your misguided. Many of the member here who believe a No. 1 should be wood stocked have no issues with other types of firearms. I love wood and walnut if the hunt allows it (sheep rifle is SS/Syn). I also have owned all sorts of tactical style firearms. I used to shoot service rifle and still would if the CSRA was still around. I still have a stripped AR lower and a SKS and a few handguns.

I think when people say the Ruger No. 1 is defiled by synthetic it is said half serious and half tongue in cheek. I don't think you will find many here that would throw semi owners under the bus (as in a true FUDD)

very well said!!

I have had a restricted since, well, forever and have always owned several. I have used and hunted with an SKS in Tupperware. I strongly support our right to own and use any and all firearm types!! My preference though is for classy wood, blued steel, and a smooth bolt action or single shot.

A beautiful piece of AAAA walnut has no place on an AR15, and a plastic bump fire stock has no place on a Number 1. All in my humble opinion.
