I got a synthetic stock for a #4mk1 from Wholesale sports. The butt fits great but when I dry fit the front portion it seems to pivot on the contact point where the main guard screw goes in.Do I need to dremel out a bit of the stock at this point to allow it to go in further?thanks

Short answer...I don't know for sure. Longer answer...I'm assuming your stock is a Ramline, and while I don't have any experience fitting their stock to an Enfield, I did fit one to a Swedish Mauser. It did require a bit of messing around including the removal of some material to make it fit. Wouldn't surprise me if that's true of their Enfield stocks as well.

I had to do that to my No 5 to make it fit. Worked well after it was installed.

Cheers

I got one for my No 4 Mk 1 and had the same problem. a steady pressure can be applied to the piece to cause it to snap in place. By the way it looks great. I had the barrel which was already Bubba'd shortened and crowned at 21" and got a short 5 round mag for it. Love it.

Well I installed it.It required removing material from the contact point where the guard screw seats.I may have taken too much because when I tighten it now it seems like there is excessive pressure between the forestock and barrel. Will this effect how it shoots?

X,
Looks good. I have a bubba kicking around which I have similar plans for, but think I will go with an ATI stock from Marstar. It already has an S&K no gunsmithing mount on it, so I will likely stay with that. What's on yours for bases and rings?

I'd like to know how the ATI fits, I want to do the same thing, but do not want to frig around dremeling the stock.

Could be a while before I get to mine as I'm still working up loads to make sure it's a reasonable shooter before I put out any $ for the stock, but I will definitely post regarding the ATI fit when/if it happens.

This was a parker hale supreme #4 which was originally a long branch. The barrel was added by parker hale and I would say it all has been re blued. The rings are parker hale .The front mount is a dove tail which is attached just like a weaver base, the rear clamps onto the flip up long range sight which has been milled in a dovetail shape to accept the ring. This was done at parker hale ,I have seen other supreme #4's with identical set up.The stock I used was a ramline from Wholesale sports.I put a bushnell 2-7 elite 3200 on it.Now I just have to see how she shoots.
