Does anyone know if there is a synthetic version of Savage Mark II BSEV stock ?

I recently purchased BSEV in .22LR, it has a nice laminated wood stock. I love the design of the stock, it is very comfortable and maybe that was the one of the reasons that I have picked this model.

However, as I am gonna hunt with it, that stock is too nice to take it into the woods. So before scratching and damaging it I want to sell it and get a synthetic one or even better overmoleded rubber one.

You could just contact Boyd, who makes the stock for Savage and order a second that you wont' mind taking in the wood. It's a very practical stock.

nope , no synthetic version but if you damage the original one you can get a replacment from boyds -- any colour you want . There about $100 + shipping but they go on sale from time to time
Great gun the BSEV - I should know , I have 2 of them 17HMR & 22WMR :)

If you plan on getting a cheap, ugly stock so that you don't damage your nice stock... which you won't have anyway, because you are selling to buy the cheap/ugly stock... why don't you just use the stock you have until it is scratched and "beat-up"... then it will be the ugly stock that you always desired! ;) :D

OR you can just do this;

Thanks all of you guys for the good idea about Boyd. If the replacement would cost me ~$100 I wont bother changing it with synthetic.

thanks Hoytcanon for shearing the photo of your setup, one advantage of the synthetic I see is that you can easily drill and tap all these handles and swivel studs for bipod without cracking the stock.
