Synthetic stock is fairly noisy when making my way through bush and scrub.

I'm quite as a housecat wearing pillow slippers making my way through the woods  but it's starting to irk me when a branch rubs against the stock of my synthetic stock with a hollow sounding "ssssssshhhhhhhhhwww" or I bump it against the tree stand safety bar "wwwwoooooooooommmm"

Thinking about putting some of that self cling camo tape on it that is reusable. Any other ideas and no I don't want to flip it over to a wooden stock as I like my synthetic and am fairly hard on it and prefer it versatility.

Who in Canada sells that self cling camo tape by the way?

Roxull Safe 'n' Sound has excellent sound deadening properties. Available at Home Depot.
Next best would be fiberlglass insulation.
I don't think spray foam will do much, but in case you decide to go that route, use the NON-expanding stuff.

I ditched my fiberglass stocks because of noise, and went to laminated wood. Foam didn't help deaden sound much in the hollow plastic stocks.

Expanding foam made a huge differance in my Remington SPS stocks, instead of a hollow loud vibrating sound.... it just goes 'thunk'.

I also added weight to mine (in the form of bullets pushed into the foam once it was dried/cured) that made a big differance with felt recoil. I found as little as 1000gr of bullets (10-100gr bullets) will make a differance with felt recoil.

I used minimal expanding (window & door) foam for my butt stocks and Acra-glass for my fore stocks ( I added weight there as well). The foam expands but if you only fill it 2/3's full, its easy to cut off the excess and re-install your recoil pad/butt plate.

Cheers!

For the tape that only sticks to itself, you can buy hockey grip tape that does that. I use white stuff for hunting 'yots in the winter. You can buy lots of colours for about 4-6 bucks a role.

I believe you are referring to Camo Form made by McNett (mcnett.com). I have checked their list of Canadian distributors and none of them seem to carry that specific product. There are a number of US online distributors and I think most of them would ship up here since it's not a controlled item.
