I am thinking a few were fired by the French at the Battle of Dien Bien Phu in 54 which was a loss by the French but that fought like tigers through the 2 month siege by the Viet Minh before being beat the ####e by artillery and then overrun. Too bad the US didn't learn anything from the French and the Japs for that matter before trying to exercise their superiority in Vietnam.

The Vietnamese at one time spoke French as a second language, after all the French had control of Indochina since the mid 1880's and later Cambodia and Laos.
Don't forget the Aussies and New Zealanders were also in Vietnam with the Yanks.
Syria has confirmed and is known to have large reserve of combat gas. Maybe YOU are the one who should stop burring your fracking head in the sand and see nothing.

oh common, I could probably show you a dozen videos of rebels beheading people with a knife... cutting their heads off while they are alive... it's the most gruesome death one could imagine - these people are barbaric, sub human scum. Oh, and cutting out a dead soldiers heart and biting into it... nice.

2REP was about 70% Germans, many of whom could not go back to Germany. It was the last battle of the Waffen-SS, if you will.
I used to listen to the hourly broadcasts out of there while the city was surrounded; you could get them on radio, easier if you had short-wave.
MAS-36s, MAS-49s, MAT-49s, some German stuff too, mostly MGs.
DUMBEST thing in the history of warfare: build your final redoubt in a valley and then NOT guard the hilltops to the max. French officers learn things like that at St. Cyr, it seems, along with "cran", "elan", "L'offensive a l'outrance" and "NOTRE quatre-cent vingt" and other outdated ideas that got a lot of GOOD men killed.
Good movie: Lost Command with Anthony Quinn. Lotsa Mat-49s. Different war but good weapons.

Those firearms didn't come for free. I am just about certain, they paid top dollar and then some for them.
There is a very small quantity of them. Not a big shipment by any means. Ammo is on the short side as well.
It almost looks like someone raided a police armory. That hodge podge of firearms is exactly that.
Not that they won't be effective in the right hands but it most certainly isn't anything to get excited about.
The people that control such things have their thumbs on everything that is on the open arms market. Anyone violates the cues on this one, will end up dead or eating out of trash cans.
If and when the big boys step in here, the technology of the firearms will rise in leaps and bounds. So will the quantity and ammunition.
Ah yes, Dien Bien Phu... The Wehrmacht's finest hour.
