T 81 M first accuracy impressions updated with a ten round group

From what I am seeing shooting the norinco red box which is garbage the rifle is getting about 3.7 MOA. I have shot the norinco red box out of my ruger american ranch and it is only capable of 2.5-3 MOA. Unfortunately the only other ammo I have is Hornady black and gecco target. The hornady black was terrible the gecco the rounds were landing off of my sheet of paper so I don't know what they were doing and I was losing expensive brass in the snow so i was not willing to experiment too much with it.
So what did I learn the rifle is reliable I did not have one malfunction. The rifle is at least 3.7 MOA accurate I shot several groups that demonstrated that. I suspect that the rifle can deliver better accuracy with better quality ammunition I also suspect that I might be able to reduce some of the vertical aiming error with a 6 o clock hold.
I find the rifle quite satisfactory for what it is.

I wouldn’t expect to find the potential of a rifle without an actual point of aim, how do you know if the rifle will shoot if there’s nothing to repeatedly aim the sights at?
What I am doing is I am estimating the center of my target and shooting at that. While it is impossible to see an exact point of Aim at 100 yards. It is possible to see symmetry between the front sight the rear sight and the target. When everything is symmetrical then I maintain the symmetry while engaging the 8 trigger.

At 100y and with iron sights. I think that's all you can do. Unless, someone had the "eagle eyes" and could see a small black circle on a white background or something similar. Personally, when I shoot either an SKS or Mosin at 100y, I just use a standard, 100-yard NRA small bore rifle target. If I have all 10 shots in the bullseye, I'm happy. Good for my age and eyes. I'll do the same with my Type 81M underfolder. No plans to mount any optics.
Regarding trigger pull weight. I measured mine at 6.5-7 lbs. Nothing to write home about but it is a two-stage trigger which helps a bit.

Doesn’t really do much to keep your poa consistent, at 100m your from sight is going to obscure most small bullseye’s. If you’re off by cm’s at the bench each shot it could be inches at 100m, your group then becomes a pattern. Kinda like trying to zero a scope while shooting it freehand, your just chasing your tail. Try a 4”-5” diamond or triangle with the point down, line up the sights with the prop of the front sight post just touching the bottom point of the diamond or triangle. At least your point of aim is consistent and repeatable, I use black or red duct tape cut into a square. It’s easily visible at 100m, beer/pop flats are free from my local corner store and duct tape is cheap for how many squares you get.
The graph paper target is with bulk norc white box at 100m with an sks, iron sights off front/rear bags.
If someone can't focus on a say 3" x 3" different colored paper through irons at 100 yards, get your eyes looked at.
Smaller is not that bad with good irons like a Garand and a match barrel.
Might like a bigger one for notch and post like an SKS or this one was an Israeli Kar98k with a near new barrel
The SKS rifles I've had here have ranged between 3.5" and woeful lol. Their sights and triggers will definitely make you work on your technique tho! Could always just be that I suck with an SKS
JBD, your 10 shot groups with that rifle are very respectable!
