I finally bought a brand new T97 from Frontier Fire arms. I know I'm coming a little late to the party and probably not going to tell you anything you don't already know about it.
Why did I wait so long to buy one?.....I LOVE it. I like everything about it. Its well built, functions 100% and its very accurate. Right out of the box and to the range...I never had to adjust the sights at ALL. I brought my" sks sighting tool" and my targets and 80 rounds of ammo. I figured it would take me a while to dial it in. The first shot at 50 yards landed right in the middle of a 5 inch circle !! Just using the iron sights it comes with. I LIKE the carry handle too.! I tried all my mags in it and they all worked..zero problems. I've seen videos of people having Mag issues ...."I really don't understand it" I never encountered any problems.
I had a chance to shoot the Tavour yesterday and I liked it a lot,...it set the bar high for the T97. to tell you the honest truth.."I find them basicly the same, ..they feel the same, shoot the same , I don't favour one over the other LOL. "I do the the carry handle"LOL. I have owned a Just Right carbine in 9mm &45, as well a High point 45 carbine, and a Keltec SU 16, And I choose this T97 over them by far. Its a FUN gun and non restricted. 14 rounds on tap with a BW mag.
I don't plan on doing anything to it....just trotting through the bushes and shooting it. 10 out of 10 !!

I really didn't need to hear this. I promised my new bride "No more guns". Oh well, one more can't hurt. Can it? Thanks lone ranger.

Thanks guys. I'm no gun expert, I'm just your regular "joe shmoe" and if it works good, and I like it , I'll give it a good review.

yeah they are pretty slick.

I kinda think of them as an SKS. You buy it for what it is and it is waste of money to mod them... unless you really want to.

I also love the carrying handle!

The Tavor 'felt' better to me too.
Mind the T97 was just as accurate for irons.

If you had the chance to clean both, the T97 wins hands down.

the flat top is quite nice I would say.
Oh god 330$, seriously :|

That was my reaction to the price. Well almost. I got it for the early pre-sale discount. But when I got it, I was blown away by the quality. I didn't feel so bad sawing my sights off to install it.

The way I see it, the ftu I have will probably last longer than the rifle, so it'll end up on another one once I shoot my current one to death. So that being said, I justified it as a $150 mod for 2 rifles.

Fact is the safety ,mag release position and lack of a flattop and bolt release with last round hold open make the Tavor a much better rifle , if those commie bastards fixed those issues in a newer model they would have a winner at around the $1000 mark

Cleaning kit

Took mine to the range the day I got it. After a few shots I was trying to figure out how to adjust the front iron site. Decided I had to make a tool and set it aside. While it was laying on the bench I noticed the trap door in the pistol grip.

You need an SKS front sight adjustment tool
