T 97 mag release

Duke878, Jarvy: When I first made the ambi release a little over a year ago, I thought about producing a few to sell but at the time there were no spare releases available for sale and I believe that is still the case. I modified the original release by welding the parts you see in my pic to it and would need a supply of oem releases to modify.

I didn't take enough pics while making it to make a how to write up because I figured most guys wouldn't have the proper tools (welder) to make their own.

as they are almost the same size as an AR mag release.. wouldnt you be able to use that as the donor piece?

theSHARK, have you thought of offering to mod ones that we T97 owners already have? Have us pull it out and send it to you then charge us for your time and supplies... HINT HINT HINT :runaway:

I've been meaning to take my rendition to a good machine shop to have some duplicates made up. Now that I have the money I just need to find the time :D also need to get myself a TFU.

Check out E-Machine shop!

The download for the CAD program is very easy to work with, and they have the pricing system built in. Doing a 1-off prototype is expensive, but if you make 50+ units you'll see the price-per-unit start to come down exponentially.

I'm going to look in to that, thanks for the suggestion!

No worries, they have lots of tutorials but if you have a question, PM me. I made my USC45 stock block with that site, and a few other things.

It works basically by taking a big piece and cutting shapes out until you have the desired "end part" You have to watch for radius's and things like inside corners which are not doable from certain angles, but once you get the hang of the program its relatively capable!

Thanks again. I have an engineer buddy who offered to do up a schematic in solid works for me as well.
