With the passing of my father I put away his guns and never really had the heart to take a look at them. Yesterday I did. There is one I need assistance with to assess and or sell.

It is a T. Bland and Sons SXS double triggered, double hammered beauty. 30" barrel, stock and barrels in good shape. Firing pins have been removed. The one pic showsmarks on the barrel but its tape from numerous guns being taped together by the old man. The serial # dates to post WWI.

Read all I could about the company. These guns fetch very good money when in great shape. I just don't know the next step. Anyone have a contact or a suggestion on who I should contact or is anyone interested??

Value depends on condition. We don't really know condition but from the limited pics it looks like the barrels and action need refinishing. There is also a crack starting behind the lockplate. How badly are the internals of the stock cracked? The checkering is also worn. Stock work costs a fortune. How tight is the action? Is there any pitting in the bores? Serious buyers will also want to know barrel wall thickness and if the chambers have ben lengthened. Is it nitro proofed or just black powder? All of these things greatly reduce value. Also, this is Canada and it will not bring the price that it might in the US. Last year there was one on here that was in better condition than your gun and it was a higher grade. It was for sale for a long time at $2000.00 or best offer. I don't think it ever sold. I do not think you will get $1000.00 (if that) for your gun in this country the way it is.

Outfit in the States bought this company. For a fee they will give you info. Very nice shotguns but condition is everything.
