T/C Contender purpose?

Two hands.... but NOT like you hold a rifle with the second hand on the foregrip. If you try that your trigger hand arm will be oddly bent and not support the gun as steadily. You want your strong hand around the grip and then the support hand folded over the first much like shooting a revolver.

On a Contender handgun the foregrip's only function is to keep the barrel hinge pin from coming out. And for some folks I suppose it makes the gun look nicer..... Although contender pistols are pretty odd looking ducks to my eyes.
 
I guess what I am thinking is if the contender was not "designed or intended to be held and fired with one hand" then is it a handgun by definition?

Look at the Rossi Ranch Hand, not considered a "hand gun" in Canada. How does it differ from a contender?
 
Most of us use two hands to hold regular handguns too. That doesn't make them any less a "handgun" than th Contender.

There's no shoulder stock on the Contender pistol so that pretty much means it is intended to be shot from a hand held position.
 
If I am not mistaken the Contender is available in all kinds of calibres,so maybe the issue of how you hold it is determined by what you are shooting???
I just got a rifle in 30-30 cal and after shooting that I would definitely hold a light weight handgun using the same round with both hands.
