T/C Encore barrels

Who in Canada stocks barrels for these rifles? My local dealer says he can order them, but they are a looonnng time coming. :x Any help would be appreciated!

Bigredd, right now I am just considering an Encore. But I wanted to know what the availablity of barrels was like. We have quite a few muzzleloader seasons popping up in this part of the universe, so I thought an encore smoke pole would be a good place to start maybe, and add barrels later. I would probably want a predator caliber (243 :twisted: ), but in a nice weight for carrying, and maybe a big game caliber too.

I called S.I.R. about this because I want to get a couple of different barrels for my encore. They stock a few and said that a custom order for a caliber they don't have is quite easy..........I'm holding out for a 300 WSM as soon as TC makes one.

Gilly, you won't find TC making a WSM barrel till they completely redesign their actions!!

A number of outfits in stateside have done barrles for them and beefed up the gingepins, etc, but the WSM cannot be loaded to it's potential in the Encore becuase of the amount of bolt (breachblock) thrust .

This is why they are available in standard magnums such as the .300 and 7mm, but not in the others.

Too short a case and too big a case head tend to make the actions pop open!
This has been discussed at legnth on other sites, and sometimes in depth.

Gilly, let me know how it shoots.....I ordered one from SIR and have found (so far) that the 165 SST seated to the cannelure and 75gr of RL22 will group mine around MOA @ 100yds. The problem I'm having right now is that with 165gr Speer HotCore in front of 75gr RL22 I get 2 shots or 3 grouping 1/2" or better and then the 3-4-5 shots open the darned group up out to 4"+.....The COL is to the lands and backed off a tad 3.510"COL......FWIW
