T/C encore prohunter and contenders

One is stainless/synthetic
One is wood/blued.
Are these the only differences?
Are the barrels between both models interchangable?
Where can I find an Encore contender? Discontinued?

Encore Prohunter and Contender barrels do not interchange,

my Prohunter frame is stainless and most barrels are stainless but do have a couple Blued, the Contender is Blued as is all my barrels both can use wood or synthetic furniture.

the Prohunter is sold at Cabelas not sure if they sell the Contender the issue is they have little choice for barrels

I want to try a Pro Hunter one day.

I have 2 Prohunters. I want a contender. I had one in .270 for a day but got an offer I couldnt refuse and traded it off before I got to shoot it. It fit me better which I only realized after I got the prohunters. Contenders are rarer than hens teeth on the EE and gun store used racks.

Lots of contenders are restricted in Canada as well because they are pistol frames.

Encore frames can handle higher pressures than Contender. I have one of each and honesty prefer the Contender.
