T/C Impact vs Omega

I cannot say anything about the omega but the impact is a very nice gun for the price. I cast my own minnies for my gun and it kills deer all the time. if you do not want to spend a lot of money the impact is the way to go.
 
Having shot both alot I feel that the omega is a notch or 2 higher on the scale. I prefer the one piece stock over the 2 piece for accuracy reasons but the impact we have shoots very well.
 
My omega is a joy to use. Wood laminated stock that I have bedded performs extremely well. Omega Set the bar IMO and still remains the measure. Not sure if more moving parts on the modern models is going to prove out over the long run...but it seems most folks like the more modern design and its holding up. Only benefit for the new models in my view is the ability to place your primer in easier. No biggie.....just got to remember to do this before I head down the trail:) BTW, if you can find an omega on the ee...jump. Upgrade the plastics to wood and never look back.

I ended up making a deal on a used Omega. I bet the Impact is great and would last a long time, but there’s no hinge to wear on the omega. What brand of stock Elkhuntr? I’d like to get away from the thumbhole.
 
You can look at boyds.gunstock industries. They are pricey but the quality is there and drop in fit makes it easy to get shooting. Mine loves either the 300gr Hornady SST with 100gr pyrodex, or 100gr of BH209. I pour my own Lee REAL 320s and they are great too at 80gr BH209. If you enjoy peeps...try getting the ones mounted on the rail system so you can switch to a scope when wanted.

I really enjoy my Omega. It was one of the first available in Ottawa. The synthetic stock was nothing to write home about, so I had one made for it by Ian Robertson off of a Nesika hunting fiberglass blank he was making for them. He worked the comb until a low scope or the irons both were functional. Thing is a pussycat to shoot with the stock with the Kickeez pad. Only reason I mention it is he has closed up shop and told me not to mention he made it as it took so long and he never wanted to make another one :).
