I got a chance over the weekend to finally shoot my new Omega...wow what a nice light rifle. However I put a Leupold Vari-X II 2-7 duplex on it with low Leupold quick detach rings on the weaver base and the scope actually sits too low for quick target aquisition. I thought I'd mention this issue I'm having with having to grind my head down for a clear picture for others who are scoping their Omegas. I'm going to replace the low rings with mediums which I hope will solve the problem. As far as recoil and volocity...well the Omega handled nicely for such a light BP rifle even with magnum loads of 150g 777 pellets or 110g 777 FFG loose powder. I was able to toss a Dead Center 240 grain .40 cal sabot @ over 2000 FPS with a little room over...I imagine in cooler weather it will be right at 2000 FPS with 110g of 777 FFG. I was impressed with the Dead Centers and will definately be shooting them this winter for BP season in WMU 75
