T/C Precision hunter-Warlord

Read about the T/C R55 on here. Another good T/C product.

Had a friend whose Icon didnt shoot, some sort of stock fit/magazine issue - rifle was replaced under warranty without any issue (and he got to choose the replacement stock).

First target - at 100m - shots 1-3 were the first shots out of the rifle, cleaned then 4 & 5 a little less focussed (but still 5 shot sub moa with cleaning inbetween the group). 6, 7, 8 adjusting scope.

Second target - at 200m - shots 9 & 10 were to determine drop from 100m & adjust scope. Then 1, 2, 3 switched from corelokt to powershok. The squares are an inch, the distance is 200m so is well below 1 moa. Again - cheapest ammo, first outing with rifle.

If needed another hunting rifle would buy another Icon Weathershield. However, if buying a target rifle then for 3k would like go custom, may not shoot any better but would find it more fun to spec something out.

And a couple pics of when cleaning the rifle - can see bedding block and flat bottom receiver with 3 recoil lugs/action screws.

One fella around here ranted and raved about HS Precision.

Then bought a Howa. Couldn't believe the $800 rifle would shoot aswell as a $3500 rifle.

So the story goes................

Stuff is possible.

While I agree with Max-Owner that scoring a consistently sub-MOA factory rifle is possible, TC is not going to put custom barrel, trigger and stock manufacturers and the fine 'smiths who build them out of business anytime soon.
For a poster to preach the gospel about stock TC's trumping 3500$ customs as fact and rule is horse-sh@t.
I guess I can plan to score a custom off the EE for dirt-cheap once the competitive shooting world unloads them after discovering the next best kept 800$ secret.
Guess I'll get called a "gun-snob" now! :(

Simple facts speak for themselves.

Savage puts out cheap rifles that shoot. You can have an internet argument all you want. More and more are jumping on the bandwagon.

T/C maybe trying to step up to the plate to offer competition.

In the end, its upping the anti and shooters will get the better results.

Here are a couple point not mensioned about the t/c.
The trigger is awsome and adjustable.
Aluminum bedding block in the stock.
The bolt lift is 60 degrees because of the three lugs
accuracy certified 5r rifling sub m.o.a.
The web site makes cool sounds when you move your mouse pointer.

I can't get mine lower than 3.5lbs

That seals it for me! I'm getting one!

Wow! The wide flat receivers and aluminum bedding look really good.

Ya, that looks like some clever engineering and decent quality.. That surely must be part of the reason for the small groups. Wonder if skim bedding would improve it?
Lack of aftermarket triggers would be the only thing possibly stopping me from getting one of these. Are there any?

I have a Icon Precision Hunter in 204, and every single load put through it runs under MOA. From 3 shot to 5 shot groups, all .2" to .8". One factory load, handloads with 5 different powders, 2 different bullets, 3 different seating depths. Trying to tune it for consistent under 1/2 MOA for 5 shots is a bit more difficult.

post resurection,I know

I can do the same 5 shots groups with my Precision Hunter against my shooting Buddy with his Sako TRG-22 to 100M and 200M...
