T/C R55 Benchmark

I took my new Benchmark to the range this evening to sight it in. The only reason to buy a target 10/22 over one of these is you've never heard of the r55, seriously. My vleh is going up for sale. Shooting the same cheap bulk ammo the R55 was making holes 1/2 to 1/4 the size of the Ruger( 10 round groups). I can't wait to get some real ammo. Cold bore shots consistently to point of aim (rarely happens with the Ruger). I can't believe how inexpensive these are given the quality of parts, finish and performance. When people talk about the near bolt gun accuracy they're talking absolute sense. Any one looking for a used 10/22 VLEH?

The only bad thing is the price. A Ruger is 1/3 cheaper most of the time; well that is before you add in all the modifications to the Ruger.

I ordered it from Cabelas in Manitoba shortly before Christmas. At the time the fella on the phone told me they had four in stock. He was really good to deal with by the way; knowledgeable about both the product, accessories and shipping procedures etc. One more thing, if you pay with a credit card you don't get charged shipping, just handling ( seven some odd dollars).

It's nice having a gun that looks and shoots great without having to scrap and replace everything but the reciever eh?

I've read on the thompson site that they make one in 17 mach 2. I'd like to get my hands on one of those! Haven't seen them for sale at that same Cabelas.
