Hey yall, looking to buy a composite 270 without blowing the bank. Which would you pick the T/C Venture or the Savage Edge/Axis ?? and if you have a couple free minutes to burn can you tell me why? Thanks much

I cant speak about the Thompson, but my Edge is a great little rifle for what I paid for it. Mine is in 223 rem and even without really fine tuning my loads I'm under and inch at 100 yds. I would expect similar with the 270. I'm sure more will jump in soon.

i have both guns, edge in 308 and venture in 270. edge is fine and does its job. t/c venture has more meat to grab in the pistol grip area, much much smoother bolt and not even close to beeing as stiff as the edge. better balance with the venture but both guns do there job. both soot moa with el cheapo winchester super x. and that's with the cheap package bushnell sportman that comes with the edge and the venture wears a leupy vx-I. get the one that fits and feels better in your hands.

Venture will have a better re-sale value over the Edge>
Venture has the 5R rifling, adjustable trigger.....you get what you pay for...my $ would go towards the Venture.

I got a TC Venture 7mm-08 last spring. ( sold it )
Now i own a Savage Edge.

regardless of the price, i think the Edge...Have an Edge.
Both rifle stock are cheap, TC add another piece of cheap plastic on the grip for the look.
Savage trigger as been done by my 5 years old son. TC, Pain, really hard, harsh to adjust.
TC Venture: Ejector, so rough, hard to handle the bolt, scrape the brass and do a mess. Forget to mention,
Lots of ejector problem, the plunger get stuck in his cavity.
Edge, Never had a single issue with it.
Both have clip magazine. comparable quality.
Accuracy, Edge is more accurate.
TC was doing is MOA, But Savage dont need the warranty, everybody know what a Savage can do.
Savage Length of pull 14.25", a bit long to my taste.
After experience their Prohunter and the Venture,
I'll never go TC again.

sorry, i have do disagree with everything you said and i have both right here in front of me. venture is much better balanced, much smoother bolt, haven't had to adjust the trigger, breakes nicely at 3lb (tested by myself)much nicer to hold with more to grab in the pistol grip area...
edge seems a little front heavy, bolt is very tight, trigger breaks at 4.5lbs (tested by myself) bolt isn't smooth whatsoever when chambering or ejecting, very small in the pistol grip area....
venture is a little more expensive over the edge and both guns go bang when i pull the trigger. i bought the edge online when they first came out sight unseen. i probably wouldn't buy another. i do like the venture, and i would buy another. i'm keeping both for now.....
