T-Shirts

I'm just playing devil's advocate here. Does anyone think that this is the type of stuff that the fear mongering anti-gun types latch on to in order to further their cause of restricting and prohibiting the kind of things that we like to use for sport and entertainment?

Don't get me wrong, I am well aware of the fact that a large number of people out there do use their weapons on the job to protect and serve. Somehow I don't think it is those people that will be buying these shirts.

They look cool, but this is what jumped out at me. Thoughts?

Nah. Names like rambo scare the public....;)

Seriously, although certainly not my taste in t-shirts, it is, just a t-shirt. Any anti's/non-gun people would more that likely mistake it for a promo for a video game. It will only become more than a t-shirt if you make it so.

I just keep seeing more and more stuff like guys "reviewing" tactical products wearing balaclavas on You Tube. People wonder why there are anti-gunners out there. Just thinking out loud is all.

I am now thinking of changing our family name to Petunia, or maybe Pacifist.

What type of stuff exactly? Humorous T-Shirts? Military T-Shirts? Sarcastic T-Shirts? T-Shirts showing guns?

The "anti-gun types" as you call them will use and twist anything and everything to serve their purposes. When there is nothing to twist they'll make it up or create it. So what?

Nothing we do or say is ever going to stop the "anti-gun types" from working to take away all guns... that's their goal.

I for one will be damned if I will stop doing what I do because of them. If I want to wear an 'in your face' T-Shirt then that's my right and I'll do it... and I'll make it available to anyone else that wants to do so as well.

If you give them an inch they'll want it all... never give them anything and do NOT show them a willingness to compromise otherwise you'll just energize them to want and take more.

If you don't like the shirts, well that's cool, don't buy them. But don't even suggest that people shouldn't wear them because it might hurt gun-owners in the eyes of the anti-gun people or be used by "anti's" against us. I know you didn't say that but by playing devil's advocate you lay that groundwork.

AMEN!

I'm ordering two!

Mark, what sizes do you have in the ''Fallen but not forgotten"? Phil

I don't know, I'm not in the office and I have no idea what has been ordered the past day or so, as a result I have no way to know what's left.

We did get inventory on pretty much everything that was on the website and the main sizes we had stock of were XL and XXL with some Larges. Medium is a special order item 99% of the time.

Well, serve up another one on a golden platter then. Shirts that advertise that "Peace is Dead, You're Next" or "Kill Em All, Let God Sort Em Out" do nothing for the cause to change unreasonable gun laws.

They'll be an absolute hit though, and Mark will make some cash. I'm all for capitalism, but this sort of imagery flies in the face of everything that responsible gun owners want the lawmakers to chew on.

Sell what you want to sell. Wear what you want to wear. That's the beauty of freedom. I'm just rattling off my opinion.

So at what point would you stop catering to the anits? History has proven that appeasement is not a successful strategy when faced with an opponent that is determined to stop at nothing short of total victory. Make no mistake, the antis will stop at nothing short of total civilian disarmament. Catering to their whims or trying to win them over will get you nowhere. And every inch of ground that you are willing to give up will only serve to move your cause an inch further toward total defeat.

The time for caring what the antis think of us has long passed...

I don't look at it as catering to the antis. I simply think it flies in the face of the fact that the majority of us just want to hunt with these rifles, and use them for sport. I just personally disagree with this sort of imagery when people are fighting for our rights to use these weapons for sport/hunting.

Like I said above wear what you want to wear. People have fought and died for your right to do so.

I actually really like the "get some" T-shirts in sand and OD and i also like the "Fallen, but not forgotten". The "Unexpected Company" t-shirt with the graphics on the front is a pretty awesome shirt also.

Ya, there's a couple of shirts there that are pretty cool. Fallen But not Forgotten sure carries a good message.

I'm not serving up anything on a golden platter... in fact the only thing "new" about most of these shirts is the artwork... most of the phrases have been around longer than many of the members of this forum.

I remember the Special Forces versions from 'Nam, still have one of the wall flags kicking around somewhere. The one pictured is a much more recent variation of those 1960's/1970's versions. Many believe (myself included) that this goes back much further than that... some say to the days of the Protestant persecutions.

I'm one of those "responsible gun owners" that you refer to and what I want the lawmakers to chew on is this:

  • I'm fed up being told that I am banned from owning things because criminals use those things to commit criminal acts... ban the criminals not the objects... punish the lawless not the law abiding citizens;
  • I'm fed up being told that firearm can not be owned and used for personal protection, just hunting and target shooting;
  • I'm fed up being told that my ownership of guns somehow puts society at risk... criminals put society at risk, not law abiding, responsible citizens;
  • I'm fed up that the "good of society" is more important than personal rights and freedoms... without my rights and freedoms I don't give a damn about society;
  • I'm fed up that politicians in Ottawa think they know what's best for me and everyone else;
  • I'm fed up that what the people want and say doesn't matter if it differs from the policies of the political party in power;

I'm fed up being told I shouldn't use humanoid looking targets at the range because it might give the anti's something to complain about or give someone the wrong idea.

If you ever saw some of the T-Shirts I wear you'd probably be downright offended... they are about as far from "politically correct" as you can get. But like you said it's my right to wear what I want and to offend whomever I choose. If people take offence to what my shirt says then I'm pleased... because I'm offended by what our society has and continues to become. I'm offended by most of the people I meet in the streets on a daily basis.

This has nothing to do with T-Shirts or Gun Owners Rights or Anti-Gun activists... this is about attitude and defiance. I refuse to be muzzled or to simply comply and I refuse to live my life worrying about what the "anti's" might think about me.

You of course are free to act as you choose... until the government and the anti's take that away from you too ;)
