Don't ya know that's just a "take down' feature that the Dutch wanted when they ordered these Danish receiver commercial barreled T2's from Terni?
Is normal, customers are idiots, don't like it pound sand, Ironclad Guarantee, blah blah don't make enough from CGN to put gas in my car...bunch of experts blah blah

I'd say they 100% knew that these were NOT T2 Terni made rifles, and were recently assembled, but still tried to pass them off as the real deal at a premium no less.
I doubt they inspected the rifles at all, and had no idea just how dangerous and amateurish they were put together....
This is a pretty epic ####up...every single rifle should be recalled and fixed on Marstars dime. I mean if they care about their customers health and welfare that it...never mind their reputation, that's destroyed.

I would trust the "bunch of experts" on here 100 times more than a dealer passing on an unsafe product to his "so called customers" that cant even pay his employees wages as he calls us.
 
So how many rifles were sold? Real number not claimed by seller. Second anyone who posts here please say if you bought one this way we will know approximately how many were sold.

I bought one and still wait for it to arrive

All metal was perfect, the rear sight worked properly, wood is almost perfect and the barrel shiny as hell. Took it to the range yesterday, fired and cycled perfectly and the aim was right on. Read some of the posts, so after work today, I decided to take it completely apart and look at what everybody on this post was talking about. My bolt is ground and when I took off the rear hand guard, I was able to undo the barrel by turning it with my hand, as well the port was not chromed. Now I am pissed. There is no way in the world I should be able to undo the barrel with my hand, nor should the bolt be altered in any way.
I own 10 other Garands and feel I know a fair bit about them, but not an expert in any way. I am not sure this rifle is safe to fire now. I was very impressed with the new rifle until I took it apart. Now what do I do? I have bought many items from Marstar and always been treated very well. I don't believe Marstar knowingly set out to sell a questionable product. I will probably get beat up om this post for saying that, but that is my belief. Hopefully, the supplier will respond after the long weekend when he has had a few days to ascertain what happened with these rifles.

I've no passed complaints about Marstar or any axe to grind, but this is beyond a joke...They are NOT fit for use, NOT what was advertised and NOT worth the money...Don't wait for an explanation or response....Get your money back..!!!
 
Hello everyone.

I apologize if it is inappropriate given the fact that I do not own one of these controversial firearms, but I feel compelled to contribute to this discussion.

I too have bought products from Marstar, and had only positive experiences (especially with John#2). I've been satisfied with the products they've sold me, their prices seem reasonable, their product line varied and their shipping is comparatively fast, well packed and reasonably priced. I have not had a reason to question supporting them, up to now. Granted, I did not buy one of these rifles (they were sold out by the time I tried to pull the proverbial trigger), but I am shocked by the findings by people who purchased, received and inspected them and especially the posted responses from the owner of Marstar. I appreciate that he is frustrated by what is happening, but it does not condone rudeness to people with legitimate concerns.

Can I expect similar treatment if I have a concern with a purchase in the future?? Do I want to support a company who's owner goes on a public forum and uses an insulting tone directed at individuals in response to a valid question??

CGN is a terrific forum. I appreciate being a part of it, I've found it to be very educational and on the whole it has encouraged my enjoyment of the hobby. Yes there are the armchair experts and the blowhards who have a chip on their shoulder from some past experience, but there are also those who are bonna-fied experts and those that honestly write about their experiences for the benefit of the community. The trick is to personally separate the 'wheat from the chaff' and decide what you want to believe, or at least use as a starting point for further research. In this case, comparing the 'as advertised' to 'as delivered', the evidence presented thus far seems decisively conclusive.

What's the verdict on these firearms? Alot of people in the 'silent majority' would like to know and are watching this thread very, very closely (things being written here, including John's responses are even being reported and discussed in other foums). Are they authentic milsurps as advertised or are they recently assembled reproductions? John, could you please provide a definitive answer? You sold the product to us, please take the opportunity of a public forum that you have already contributed to and explain to us, in an open and respectful manner, the issues the owners are discovering with their purchases. I for one would like to know what exactly is going on here with these firearms, especially given the price-tag and the fact that one day I might encounter these firearms on the secondary market.

Well I for one look forward to purchasing a Marstar T2 Garand on the secondary market the next time I buy a pack of Gilette safety blades for my razor. Those bolts and possibly the barrels, based on the photos here, are fit for little else.
 
All one has to do is look up 380 (1) of the Criminal Code of Canada and decide for themselves as an individual what the right course of action is.

In the early 1970s, the Italian arsenal at Terni created the model T2, where they shortened the chamber of the original American 30-06 barrels by 12 mm ( 1/2”) to accommodate 7.62 NATO ammunition. Making this model shorter than the original M1 Garand by approximately 1/2”, its op rod and hand guards are also shorter.

These Garands are collectibles, and are NOT to be confused with inferior commercial conversions. These are the “real thing”: genuine Italian military, and they are seldom seen on the market as most were destroyed years ago. This lot was in storage for over 50 years.

• All markings are correct and are intact
• Beautiful stampings on the receiver and wood
• German proof mark is intact
• Metal finish and wood stocks are in great condition
• Front sight may lean slightly (indexing). Fully adjustable rear sight.

Spot on! What an absolute sh1t show, another one of many with this dealer. At best the purchaser was inadvertently deceived, at worst (which as above clearly states) the deception was intentional! The deception was driven by the greed to increase profit margins to the tune of ...what percentage Johnone?...300%...400%?...Disgusting, not worthy of public trust, counter intuitive of common business practice, and potentially dangerous!
Mark my words, Marstar will never receive another dime of mine...ever. :mad: An outright prohibition of Marstar from the CGN community ought to be encouraged imho. They don't care if you're blinded or injured so long as your $ is in their account.
 
This thread should not be locked. Folks need to know about the lousy quality of these rifles. Not only that but we need all the information for all buyers of these rifles to be passed on to those that still may not know what they really bought before some one gets injured using one. Not everyone may be a CGN member.
 
Johnone if you have any morals at all you would recall each and every rifle in this batch you sold. This may be the cheapest solution to this mess. Should some one be injured using one of these so called t-2 rifles could cost you much more in the long run.
