T3 Aluminum Bolt Shroud

Now all you need is a metal trigger guard and mag and you guys have something resembling a quality firearm! :D;)

OK, this would be good if my bolt shround ever breaks I would buy one, not sure what kind of weather you guys hunt in, but I was appreciating my synthetic stock and the rest of my SS tikka and all its goodness this hunting season, between the snow/ice/freezing rain/rain/cold and mud from the 4 wheeler my gun saw it all and was covered in it all, not once did I worry about it or having to rush to clean it off just let it go through everything and that's why I bought it, and as far as the plastic mag goes well I was laughing when my brother forgot his metal mag in his hunting jacket for a couple days after the hunt then pulled it out and it was rustier than a box of old nails.

i would be interested in possibly two or three shrouds. machine up some trigger gaurd assemblys and i would deffinatly be on board to purchace. never broke any plastic on my tikkas yet but machined aluminium parts would sure improve the looks. look vary nice with the laminate stocks.

Agreed. I would be interested in the metal bold shroud and the trigger guard assembly. I actually like the plastic mag, though. A metal mag that is as light-weight as the plastic one would feel extremely cheap- even cheaper than the plastic version. It would also be noisier going in and out of the rifle.

I will keep the plastic thank you .... I like my plastic Tikka, if I wanted metal parts I would buy something other than a Tikka ....

Plastic rules !!! :p :sniper:

Well, it does seem that there's some interest out there. If I wish to make these available for sale, I will have to become a Dealer, which isn't cheap (at least not for me) and I'm not too sure whether it would be worth it.

What I am going to do is spend some free time over the holidays making one of these for my rifle as a hobby project, and I'll update this thread as progress is made. If interest wains I'll just keep it as a hobby project. If people keep asking for them I'll reconsider it.

You only need to become a dealer if you ADVERTISE or sell your product here, no?

If people happen to know you are selling T3 shrouds, they can contact you directly. Off the board, if needed. Email? Website?

The demand is there, IMHO. How you choose to advertise is your business (as long as it's not on here without your dealer status!).

You don't have to become a dealer. All you have to do is make a bunch of bolt shrouds, and I could almost guarantee that from word to mouth alone they will sell like hot cakes across Canada........... That is if they aren't overpriced!

If things keep up at this rate for a couple weeks 'til I've got the first one made I'd almost certainly agree.

Here's a couple of ideas that I had for a profile on the back. I'm not really married to either of them, but I think they're an improvement. Ideas? Suggestions? Does it matter much?

What's wrong with the plastic bolt shroud?

I thought T3's were perfect, out of the box?

What's next? A good quality fiberglass stock? A metal triggerguard?

Get with the times old man. Old school thinking with old school technology. There have been remarkable achievements in the last decade but you knew that already.
