So i just got a Lumley titanium recoil lug and a Miles Gilbert glass bedding kit it the mail. Rifle is a T3 stainless laminate in 7mm Rem mag. My question is, when bedding these rifles, what is the best way to bed the recoil lug? Ive heard of people just letting the bedding compound glue the recoil lug in, but im not a fan of that idea. Would it be best to just coat the recoil lug in release agent and hope for the best?

Well you have two choices... without release agent (which bothers you for some reason) and with release agent. Personally I like to glass the lug in, making it part of that stock... why not?

How much material should I remove before doing it and how can I be sure the recoil lug stays perfectly straight up and down so it's making full contact in the receiver? Sorry if these are dumb questions, I just want to be sure it's going to be good

Use a small spot of super glue and glue the lug to the action. When you're done, the glue will break away fairly easily.
