hey guys whats the strip of metal in the T3 magazines purpose in life?

mine was scratchin the brass so I filed it down but realised it kind of moves, mm of play, so I glued it down and over it.... I shouldn't get scratches anymore but it became a point that not all the T3 calibres have the metal strip..

look at the projectile end of the magazine on the Verticle...........
what Calbre is yours?

my 308 didn't, a friend 06 and 708 doesn't, but the 9.3 and 300wsm does...

interesting hey

This? In front of the Accubond?.

I'm not sure of the reason for it either. Maybe to prevent wear of the front of mag on the harder kicking cal's?

yeah mate that little strip of metal infront of the Accubond!

I have some photos here but the bloody photobuckte dilemma means I havnt a place to upload yet, ill sign up to some other free site soon....

it seems it can be pronounced a WEE bit, which I noticed on my shiney new Brass, it was scratching it..... not a huge biggy but id prefer it didn't.
ive filed and sanded my Ruger rails as it scratched hell of my Whelen brass....

Few Ozzies have said they filed it down too....... I filed my t3 one down but as I mentioned, its not firmly in place, or has tiny movement allowing it to pronounce again........ So ive put some "plastic weld" AKA a Glue, over the strip and made it rounded, ill slightly sand it down to not have any hook-ups with the floor of the mag.. and il get photos asap

I think it protects the plastic from the bullet tips moving up and down when loading and unloading, aswell as front to back under recoil.
