T3 rebarrel

hey guys I assume a tikka t3 barrel will screw straight onto another T3action, whats the go with headspacing ? do they line up or need attention?

also- currently a 9.3x62, Say I want to go smaller, is the 308 Family do-able with the Bolt face? /243


I don't need the 9.3 for now, don't want to sell it though, kind of need a tweener for the 222 and the 7mm-08

Honestly for the amount it would cost I would just sell the 9.3 and pick up a different tikka in a cal you want. 243, 260, 6.5 creed, 6mm creed, 6.5x55 all fall between those. Personally I would keep the 9.3x62 though.

I'm hearin ya on the 9.3!
maybe the future barrel would be a shorter term thing, allowing the 9.3 to be 'put back together' again, that's what I was kinda thinkin.
get a 'mte of a mate' whos a gunsmith, or does his gunsmithing anyway, quoted approx. $100 for a Kimber swap, maybe $150 to rechamber to 284, an maybe $200 if the rechambering needed a few touches to feed etc...
so I rekon he would be similar with a T3, unless they don't align back up like a Kimber, therefore needing some extra machine work!, Go an No go gauge?!

I had a shouldered pre fit made for my tikka. Headspace was perfect.
