So the snow is off our 900m range and I have 100 rounds of fireformed and trimmed Winchester brass from the winter. It is now time to see what kind of results I can get out of my T3 Sporter.

I believe the T3 Sporter has a 1/11" twist and a 24" barrel.

Anyone have some good load suggestions for the 178 gr AMAX that I have on hand?
I also have a fair amount of H4895 on hand so would like to use it.

The max load for 175 gr AMAX and H4895 is 42.7 gr of powder. I don't plan in going over 42gr to play it safe for now.

And yes I know this isn't in the reloading section but let's just say I trust the "precision" crowd more ;)

Do a ladder test and see what the rifle likes. Start at book minimum and work your way up in either 0.3 or 0.5 grain increments. And I would not suggest that you limit yourself to loads under 42 grains, test to maximum and see what the rifle tells you.

Had great results with 178 A-Max and H4895 in my Savage 10 FCP-SR. Seated to 2.800" COL and 38.4gr of H4895. Brass was IVI so I'd be looking for 40.0 to 40.5gr if I was using the same rifle and factory brass.
