I agree on the set trigger.... Very nice, and I've grown to love it, but the first few times it is scary until you get used to it. A light brush of the finger sets it off. Don't have a scale to measure it in Lbs (or, more like oz.) When my friends are shooting it, and they're not used to it, I don't even tell them about the set function, and just let them shoot it with regular "pull", because I'm worried that they'll put their finger in the guard before being completely lined up with the target, and accidentally set it off! (Though of course I tell the inexperienced ones never to put their finger near the trigger until ready to shoot, sometimes they get eagerm)
I do not know what the pull weight in on the trigger when it is on "set" someone said could be oz s ,I have the normal pull at 2 lbs on mine{when I use it like a normal trigger).and a friends T3 Tactical I adjusted it down to just over 2 lbs It depends on how far the set screw will turn.I shoot a much tighter group with the set trigger
I used to work for Tippet Richardson in Hfx. We had offices all over Canada. I spent a lot of time in N Bay moving people around...in and out of there. Always stopped for fuel and grub at the Husky on top of heartbreak hill...lol ...Been snowed in there and every other possible place along Hwy 11...Liskeard, Geraldton , Longlac...you name it...been stuck there at one time or another. Comes with the turf ...driving long Distance for 25 odd years.

I think that the set trigger on the Tikka is nice, but.... it has a weird mechanical design that when the trigger breaks in the set position, the blade is pulled away faster than the finger can keep up with. Not that it affects accuracy, I just think it's weird in feel when it happens. I had my set trigger on my Finnfire for a while, but since swapped it off for a TRG trigger as I prefer the two stage pull. The TRG trigger is quite the device- and it mounts on most of the modern Sako/ Tikka actions without issue.
At the end of the day, I think that the factory stock Sako trigger with the return spring swapped out for a lower k spring is the best performance return. It will go down to 12-14 oz easily and few people have any real excuse to 'need' lower. No additional accuracy will be gained below that, and those who really do benefit from lower pulls neither pay attention to this thread, nor build rifles on Tikka actions!

Well, as usual I have given in to temptation . I picked up a used sporter in 308 off of a fellow cggnr . While I was at it , I put a 6.5 x 20x 50 vortex scope on it. Planning on heading to the range in the morning with some factory loads and try my new to me baby out. I appreciate everyone s input , thanks
