I'm looking into a new rifle, between the remington sendaro in .300WM or the tikka t3 varmint in .300WM anyone with personal stories experience with either? Input would be appreciated!

I have shot both I like the stock on the sendero better the t3 feels to plasticy. Although my after my t3 stock was dura coated it feels a lot better. The tikka is one of the smoothest actions out there. Remington is easier to customize later. Both shoot great. So it comes down to personal preference.

Cheers
Frank

Some say the recoil lug on magnum tikkas won't hold up very well, I love my T3 SV in 223 though.
The stock is quality for a plastic stock, try it first, but yes you can get stocks from manners and macmillan, chassis from krg or aics from roedale if you so desire.

I have a T3 varmint in 300WM, I really like it stock isn't terrible depending on what you want to do with it. I'm looking at eventually either getting a Boyd's or mountain tactical thumbhole laminate, or a MDT chassis. Some criticize the plastic mag and trigger guard but I actually really like the mag, the trigger guard is decent doesn't flex much so I'm assuming its fairly strong plastic.

I have a T3 - Stainless Varmint. Bolt action is like butter. I replaced the comp stock with a GRC and turned the gun into a target machine with a big Leupold and bipod. As far as quality I must say this gun is very well put together. Mine is chambered in 22-250, so its quite a step down form what you are looking at. That being said, the trigger in all the T3's are very crisp, and with all due respect to an above comment, I wonder if there really is a lug issue--even at the Tikka forum, there are no first hand stories of that.

I agree with the dubiousness of those claims as well as your comment on the trigger. If you were worried about the lug it could be replaced with a better one for less than 100.

One additional thing about tikkas is that they can be more difficult to work on due to the way the barrel is pressed onto the receiver. If you shoot it to the point where you want rebarrel it, i think roedale makes parts to convert it to a savage like barrel change system, as well as the better lug.

Tikka barrels aren't press fit to the receiver there barrel tenon threads are 1"x16TPI. They can have a new barrel installed by any good gun smith.

Ive got the sender in a 300 rum. Its very accurate with its favorite load. Im able to print half moa groups at most distances. I like the hs stock on the remington better then the tikka stock.. All tikkas I ever owned have been very accurate. If I were you I would go with which ever on fits you best.

The plastic mags and bottom metal of the Tikkas don't really bother me too much. The mags are slick and feed well, and seem almost indestructible. The Tikka actions are as smooth as they come, the triggers are very good and adjustable if you feel the need to play with it. The only down side I see to the Tikka is the aluminum recoil lug. My shooting partner has the T3 Sporter in 6.5X55, when we took it apart to do a pillar bedding job, we noticed the lug was already indented from the slot in the metal action bearing against the lug under recoil. He wisely decided to replace the aluminum lug with a proper metal lug and after the bedding job we have not seen any issues since. This to me is the only down fall of the Tikka and would be the very first thing I would upgrade on this rifle, even before shooting it I would make this change. I was surprised to see the amount of indentation in the lug considering the rifle is chambered in the 6.5 Swede, while an excellent caliber choice, it is of mild recoil in my opinion and would be worried about one in a heavier caliber option.

Have noticed on the tikka performance.com the new stocks they available for a decent price. Any expericance with those? I'd prob go with the thumb hole tactical/sporter. I don't know much about them but the informational video seemed to be pretty good.
