Hey,

Just shopping around for a new hunting/bench shooter. The plan is to buy something i can grow into. I really like the tikka platform and the KRG Xray.

My question is...is the CTR worth the investment if my long term plan was to place it into the Xray or Whiskey 3 chassis?

Thanks!

Tikka's are my favorite own 4 at the moment they are a great platform. The CTR would work well for you seeing you wanna hunt and bench shoot. If you plan on a Chassis keep the original stock and use it for hunting..a chassis would be too heavy to lug around in the field. .308 would be a good round in that CTR.

Cheers!!

It is unfortunate that even a MDT LSS adds weight over the original stock. I keep hoping that someone will make a chassis/stock that makes the gun lighter overall, not heavier

Well eurooptic is listing the ctr at 7.5lb plus scope & ammo. Regardless, achieving the maximum tacticoolness was clearly the original direction of this thread.

But thanks fellas! i just wasnt sure if purchasing a bare t3x and modifying over the long term would provide a better outcome for hunting and bench shooting vs just buying a CTR.
