You're right! However I wanted the ability to switch back to the original configuration, so I didn't want to take those sights off for now.

I got the rail off amazon.ca but I machined a base out of stainless to bolt the rail to it.

Thanks, it's sturdy but it still needs some machining to reduce weight before painting.

I did it mainly for stiffness but also to have a nice base to bolt risers directly to the bar if I ever decide to do so. I use an aftermarket bolt knob that came with the gun, can't really see it in those pictures.
