T97 $30 Flat Top Rail. (Didn't like the T97FTU, nor the Carry Handle Rail, so...)

Looks like the BC Tactical Bolt Knob. Is it possible to mount the rail/bar lower, closer to the charging handle?
Whats the height from cheek rest to top of bar/rail?
After several tries, I finally found the rail I needed on Amazon.ca and it arrived yesterday. (AIM 12" Uncut Picatinny Blank Rail, .49" thick)
$22 CND (I bought 2, so shipping was free.).
Sooo.. I did this today:
Im by no means a super DIY dude or have a lot of tool expertise or a gunsmith... and I still have to touch up the rough parts, but Im actually quite happy with how it worked out!
To be honest, with a bit of patience and some time, it wasnt that bad!
My question to thsoe that did it already... now that ive "closed the loop" with the rail ontop and the barrel underneath... how do I get the damn upper plastic handguard back on?
I obviously have to trim it down still... but i DOUBT you did all of this with the upper handguard still attached...am i correct?

i am really liking this mod. Bother a tool and dye maker and has his own mill in my parents basment. Trust me one hell of a B$$%H to carry a mill into a masment. We broke it into 2 pieces to do it. Back on topic, i am really liking this so if i ever get my hands on a t97 i would be all over this mod. project between my brother and myself.
Dudes, This mod is AWESOME!!!! I've been waffling on getting a T97 or not. I just cant justify a Tavor for 3k. and the current after market mods are pretty expensive (T97.ca stuff is awesome and high quality I'm sure, but for a price tag.) I will be getting one now forsure.
What ideas are out there for an ambi-mag? I have a couple I want to try to create a similar mag release to the tavor where there is a lever in the front that lifts the mag catch.

Have a look on previous posts in other threads. Most magazine release mods have been tweaking the original and making it accessible on the left side.
T97.CA had prototyped a rear release and flared mag well, but that was quite some time ago. My suggestion is to try it out and ask the forum for help or suggestions.
I'd like to see your thoughts and concepts. Maybe post some drawings to what you're thinking about and how?
Yea looks cool. Would rather prefer the rear or front release... Maybe I'll wait for the T97.ca one or see if someone can fab a Tavor-like release
T97.ca hasn't failed me yet.
Does anyone have a good diagram or video of how the Tavor mag release mechanism works? For a lack of a better term, pushing the lever lifts the "stopper" that protrudes past the magwell and into the mag that releases it from the magwell... I just don't know the part/mechanism between the lever and the "stopper"..
there is a guy in the T97 sticky that modified an AR release to work.
