Besides the obvious redesign of the trigger mechanism to satisfy the RCMP, I am wondering if there are any other notable changes between the NSR batch and the Lever Arms ones from 2007.
A few guys here owned them back then.
The barrel was under 18.5", I recall that.

The trigger is the same as the type 97b ( thick polymer ). The front sight is one piece. It has no bayonet lug ( prob due to the fact its a sporter) the parkerizing on the internals is lighter colour than the 97a.

Early models looked like this:

Now the models look like this:

The top photo is of the original T95, chambered for the 5.8x42mm cartridge. The mag and magwell are different. It also has the front-grip built into the trigger guard.
The second photo is of the crazy short carbine version of the T97, which also uses the front-grip borrowed from the 95.

However, the regular rifle version of the 97 did not have the front-grip on the first batch either. This video is of Ken C. (Lever Arms owner) gun, one of the first 5 in Canada.

Except for the different magwell it was the exact same. Here is a video of it from 3 years ago.
Why better ego's to I might add.

I'd like to see the carbine model and the standard length with built-in foregrip on the Canadian market again.

Is anyone currently bringing in the short barrel model? Such a novel little thing. Like a P90 with a can hanging off the muzzle.

that front trigger grip on the t97a s are so sick ! donno if the next batch will come with those grips.
The front grip was on the original QBZ-95, but has been replaced with the same type as on the T97NSR in the latest version of the QBZ-95-1, so it would seem to be unlikely that they would go back to using an obsolete version.
