T97 feed ramps

Nice thread necro. Anyway, when I first got my T97, I put about 1000 rounds through it without any issues. Then I had feed problems. I was getting my bullets pushed into the case every second round. Sent it back to Bullseye London (after a year of owning it no less) and they honored their warranty (great company, and site sponsor). Not exactly sure what was done, but I've put about 2000 rounds through it since getting it back, and not a single issue. I actually use it over my Tavor when I want that extra accuracy.

I think your remark about the Tavor might be regarded as Heresy by some on CGN!

It's actually well known around here by most of those who both own, and/or have shot both. While the Tavor trumps the T97 in reliability, the T97 is actually the more accurate rifle.
 
For the first 1600 rnds (norc yellow box) I had maybe 20 jam the bullet into the case from feeding. So being anal and wanting my guns to run 100%, I dremelled in some m4 style feed ramps.

I would call it an intermediate gun smith project, so be aware. Too much matetial ground and the rifle is probably toast. Just small passes at a time. Then polish.

Now with different types of ammo and about another 2500 rnds out, not one single "push back".

The more I shoot the 97 the more I like it!
 
I had to file my magwell so it would seat LAR mags, before that they wouldn't go in at all. It runs 100% with them now and easily seats pmags, as well as Elanders. Took about 15 mins, I filed and tried to fit, filed and tried to fit until the mags went in with only slight resistance. So far so good.
 
my 14############ magwell was too wide , I tried to file the feed ramp but I still get bullet pushed in the casing every 2 or 3 shots. only mag it worked with was the factory mag. northsylva made it very clear that there is no warranty on these junk.

And you'll get noticeable POI shifts as the Tavor heats up, the T97 is very consistent.

agreed, that plastic housing deforms under heat. same with the sl8 but sl8 has a much better barrel. I bought a used tavor and sold it after. why ? because my scoped 56 sks shoots better at 100m at a fraction of the cost.
 
He's the necromancer not the OP. He needs help for a filed feedramp that got worst.

You might of filed too much as it was mentionned in those other reply. To that point I wouldnt try anything else and see a gunsmith that have some experience with T97 (don't know Who exactly sorry).
