Kind of a matte parkerizing finish. Quite durable.

Aluminum receiver looks like thick anodizing

Not 100% sure on all the steel, looks like a couple different coatings

Curious as to if a solvent like paint thinner or mineral spirits will hurt original finish ?i bought mine used and it’s been painted, I wanna remove the paint. Cheers

What about dye on anodized receiver? Will it not remove by thinner?

No it wouldn’t and deff anodized. Striped the metal to original black finish no issues. But watch if you do use it as not all parts are anodized, seems only the lower receiver is.. barrel and sights are parked it seems. I had scratches in the barrel and only bluing would fill it in and with receiver bluing didn’t work but birchood aluminum black worked perfect
