As someone looking to get into the bullpup game without spending Tavor money which would be the better buy the T97 or the RDB? The T97 seems to be about $500 cheaper but how does the quality compare between the two? Any insite into these two guns would be appreciated!

RDB will be a little nicer than a T97, although some people aren't a fan of how plastic the Kel-Tec guns are. Personally I'd take an RDB over a T97, but with the way prices are I'd probably spring for a used Tavor for the extra $200-$300 it would run you over the RDB.

I am in the same dilemma.

I have handled both but only shot the T97.

From my perspective the T97 and RDB both “feel” cheap, but for the RDB I think it comes from the plastic foreend and tons of screws holding it together.

I am leaning towards the RDB as you can buy spares and there is a growing market for aftermarket parts / accessories as I understand it.

The one thing I truly dislike on the RDB is not being able to see the chamber without removing the mag and turning it upside down. I can live with the mag release and the funky safeties. I wish it had the option to add an aftermarket AR grip.

With the T97, if it breaks, I think you are pretty much stuck with buying a donor gun.

My 2 cents for what little it is worth.

Worth bearing in mind that t97.ca are marketing several accessories for the T97 that turn it into a firearm of higher quality than either gen's original.

Honestly, given how cheap I've seen used Tavors going for on the EE, I don't know why anyone looking for a 5.56 bullpup would go with anything else. T97 is an iffy proposition, and the fact that there's no quick and easy way to check the chamber makes the RDB a no-go for me (same reason I sold my RFB)

T97 GenII is the way to go, I got the KELTEC RDB several week back, think the T97 GenII is the way to go, more solid.
