T97 Gen2 coming to Canada

I dont see any problems with the T97, the first one I ever shot did 3 bursts and full auto. Owner said he just had that issue fixed, but when I got behind the trigger it started up again.....

Anyone else have that "problem"?

I haven't experienced it but two possible causes are:

You're accidentally bump firing it. Unlike other rifles, you can conceivably pull the trigger faster than the gun can cycle. The linear hammer can fall immediately after the bolt starts moving forward again, and follow it home. Once it is fully in battery, it may be enough for the rifle to fire again. The hammer cannot contact the firing pin until the bolt is fully seated, so theres no danger of an out of battery detonation, but rather it would act like an open-bolt gun. See if you can replicate the problem with more deliberate trigger presses.

Sticking firing pin. The bolt in the T97 is basically lifted directly from the AK. The firing pin in an AK is meant to ride fairly loosely in the bolt. If you hold it with the bolt facing up, the firing pin should drop and not protrude. The T97 firing pin however has some sort of finish on it, like parkerization. Makes it stickier. I removed mine and sanded down the widest part of the "head" with 1000 grit paper until it could slide freely in the bolt as a preventative action. Didn't take much. Also give the inside a swab with some Q-tips to make sure there's no gunk in there. The punches in the cleaning kit are designed to push out the bolt's roll pins, just like an AK.

Had 2 of these, liked them but no love here for even the FTU upgrade and I believe the Gen 2 T97 could deliver.. If they keep it at $1000ish.

You may consider getting a used Tavor since even the used ones will sell for around $2000.00

There was maybe 1 we'll used one for 2 grand. Most are still 2200-2500. And that's factory trigger.

Hard to compare to a rifle that's half that price.

The Tavors aren't selling well since the announcement of the new X95. I'll likely get a Gen 2 T97 though, as pretty much everything I need in a NR bull pup.

Personally not overly excited that they didn't:
(1) Move the safety to the up-to-date position near the pistol grip.
(2) Offer it using original QBZ patterned mags, i.e. rock in style.
