I originally sent this by PM to Toomanymachines, but I thought it might be worth others of you having a read too.
Stevo, my apologies for posting after closing.

Toomanymachines,
If you're financing a company, doesn't that make you either a shareholder or a partner (or a bank?)?
If you called your local Home Depot to order some lumber, and they asked you to pre-buy a pile of it so that they could have enough money to import it from China, would you give them the money?
Same principle.
If that pile of lumber got impounded by customs because the sample CBSA got sent in advance wasn't the same as the pile that was brought in using your money and they needed to examine the new pile of lumber, would you blame customs for that? Or is that a CBSA agent actually doing their job?
If that pile of lumber was infested with long-horn spruce beetles that virulently attack and kill trees and had to be destroyed, would you blame customs for that, or would you blame Home Depot? Or would you blame the chinese company that sent a sample of one type of wood, and shipped another?
When would you ask Home Depot to give you your money back?
You can see the parallel above...and...if I gave a company my money to help fund their importation of an object, I'd certainly consider myself more than just a customer.
Just some food for thought.
