T97 picture thread

I hope you have tiny fingers then to run the charging handle.

I wouldn't downplay an aftermarket charching handle/configuration. What M14 is doing is simply being the first to create a recognizable rail system, patent it, and be the first 'go-to' for any source of Type97 accessories. Anyone can pop the rivet, and slip a bolt through it. An SL8 style would be nicer, however I would settle for a tabbed bolt/blade arrangement.

What's more important to a firearms manufacturer? Allowing the competition to mass produce the single most important upgrade for the T97 - a rails system. Which will bring in the most $$$, or worrying about the second place consideration that any local machinist could do? What would a polished one-off example cost? $80? What you are asking for, is akin to demanding .50 beowulf mags, when you don't the lower reciever to even accomadate its operation.

Simply put: patents trump [inital] comfort, where a business' interest is concerned.

Good product should trump first-to-market. Lousy initial product is a bad, bad idea. Just look at NEA.

I doubt they are going to release a lousy initial product. This is only 1 of 11 I would wait to jump to any conclusions. From the way they are noting all suggestions Im remaining pretty positive.

The suggestions are mostly concerned with aesthetics, not function.

I'm not jumping to conclusions, just mentioning that this product has the potential to be excellent, not just good.

Even if it's just the way it is shown in the pics, I'll still buy one. It's better than the ridiculous OEM setup.

I think if an AR type charging handle (allowing ambi use) is added in the same spot the original is it would be pretty good. What are you suggesting they change?

For $975 i couldnt say no, imma try it out tomorrow

I don't really know where else to post this, so jumping in to say I just grabbed one too. It looked kinda flimsy / plasticy in pictures but actually felt really solid in the hand (ahem...). So, yea. I got one...

Welcome to the dark side... Wait a bit longer and M14.ca will give us some options to Barbie our babies :D

I got mine today. Dose this make me one of the cool kids? Full rail tavor and t97 today for Gone Fishing in Port Alberni on the island. Best price I could find very happy and stuff is great to deal with. Anyway I got $20 for the plug. The only reason I picked up a t97 is to do the flat top from t97.ca. Lower as soon as they offer it. When these rifles can out I got sick in my mouth, ugly as all hell! But thanks to the work from m14.ca/t97.ca I got one. Anyways, it will not leave the house till the facelift is done. My two cent. Cheers jeep
