T97 picture thread

I agree to high.

How are you guys shooting with the optics that high, i know the open sights arent great but what gives, even the lowest red dot i have seen seems high.

Its not that high when shooting from the left eye, actually pretty comfortable. I've learned to do that with my cz858 and the side mounted scope.
If someones comes with a better solution for a scope on this thing please let me know. Shooting with irons is not my thing.

Magpul cheek riser for a CTR stock, mildly modified and attached with velcro. Works great in my living room. Hopefully will find if it works at the range tomorrow.

but do you need to remove the sight if you want to clean the gas piston and piston spring?
because the upper need to remove first and see the piston.
If any scope and sight need to remove than can clean the rifle .this is no point to put it.
i will stick on iron.

I'm going to try mounting one of these, with a scope or red dot on the left of the charging handle.

In theory, that should be usable shooting from the left - tilting the rifle at a slight angle to the right when shooting. It should also place the bottom of the scope slightly below the carry handle, as opposed to a quarter inch above it.

Might be Derpy, maybe possible to aim with thr left eye, when shooting from the right... We shall see.

Lots of neat little scope mounts to try on DX.

Cheek raisers too.

You really need to stop watching my little pony. It's not healthy!!

That being said good point about the 858. I bought an 858 and now a type 97 for shooting with irons. I have no expectations or need to put optics on it.

There's a lot of talking in this thread, man..

Do you see what I have here in my hand?

Nice... I haven't got mine yet, but I was playing with my carry handle rail just now. With a Bushnell Banner 1.5 - 4.25x 30mm scope with some low rings kicking around, the scope looks low enough it almost won't fit... Even lower than some of the red dots posted here.

Man, I can't wait to get mine and try it out.

Just picked her up from Xtreme Gun Shooting Center in Winnipeg, duracoated white, then spiderweb black over.

Why does the Canadian T97 not have the vertical foregrip like the Chinese service version?

Using the zero gas port setting is an easy brass catch option.....should be gentle on the cases too.

The grip shaped trigger guard seems like a no brainer and the safety location near the grip also.
