T97 Safety Fix = Glock Trigger?

I don't have a T97 and haven't seen one other than in photos. The biggest weakness IMHO appears to be the location of the safety.

In some of the commentary here someone mentioned that the rifle is striker fired. If so, I wondered whether the actuation of the trigger also results in the full or partial cocking of the striker? Or, is there a hammer also? I can't tell from the photos. If the striker is not fully cocked by the rearward motion of the bolt/carrier, but relies upon the actuation of the trigger, then would a safety that served only as a trigger lock (as opposed to a cross bolt, firing pin block etc.) suffice?

If the striker is cocked by the trigger, then the rifle is a good candidate for a Glock style trigger safety, where the rearward motion of the trigger is prevented by a safety bar that is built into the trigger. If that were feasible, a custom made trigger with integrated safety bar could be fitted and then the rear mounted manual safety could be removed entirely or deactivated.

Finally the QBZ95-1 has the safety moved to above the pistol grip. Thoughts on whether that safety mech could be retroactively added to the T97?

Anyone who has a better understanding of the trigger mech care to comment?

No hammer. The trigger does not do anything other than release the striker.

Any safety retrofitted to the pistol grip area would only block movement of the trigger.

The reason that the glock trigger safety is safe is because loaded pistols not in use go in a holster, which blocks the trigger completely.

I don't think a trigger safety as the only safety on a long gun is a good idea.
While hunting I keep my shotgun loaded, and have the safety on in case a branch somehow hit the trigger as I walk through brush.
