I heard a rumour on here about the Canada ammo t97 coming with a sight rail included. Any truth to this? Because I was going to order one otherwise, just wanted to be sure. Thanks.

I don't think so, it may at some point been part of the original pre-order offer many years back. I'm expecting to buy one, 50 bucks seems a little steep for what it is, but the price of the firearm should be taken into account. This is something that should be made a combo deal + 30 bucks:D

The summary is that you will get a sight rail if you were part of the pre-order/order that got seized by the RCMP.

To my understanding, anyways.

CANAMMO has them made for them. They are shipping out (I got mine this week) and they are made in china. The rail is about 5" long and from what I gather they sit and bolt in/on the m16 style handle on top the rifle. The rail comes with 4 bolts and an allen key for mounting to the rifle and is about 1" tall (roughly looks more like 3/4" to me). From what I can tell the rail is made from T6061 aluminum hard anodized and, for a firearm related product coming from China, is very well built. Also it is very rigid and sturdy and light so added weight to the rifle is minimal. Lastly comes in a green box with no pictures or wording (except for the white sticker that says NRT004 Made in China). For the price the rail was I was a little leery about how the quality would be as a lot of rails for firearms are usually more money but after further inspection the rail is a excellent buy for a new type 97.

Here you go. Box, top, side, and bottom.
