Registered owners of the T-97 (and High Standard 10B shotguns) have received letters, dated March 22, indicating that the firearms are now prohibited, and must be turned in for destruction.

First thing that owners of the T-97 should do is file for a reference hearing. At the very least, this will delay the seizure.

You should also meet personally with your MP.

Tell them you received the letter, and the RCMP has made no explanation as to why they feel the gun is prohibited, only that it must be turned in.

It is very likely that more guns will be affected as the RCMP reviews the registry in preparation for removal of the "long-gun registry"

DON'T EVER FEAR your Government! They do what we let them get away with! Stand the F$#~ up for your rights !!!!! Damn this pisses me off, It is time to start protesting in large numbers people, if we don't then we will be a prisoner in our own country!!!! Remember they work for us!

The RCMP nor the Government has any right to take legal owned property without compensation! If you think for one minute these crack pots are going to take an item of mine and not give me $$$$$$$ for it, they are seriously misguided!!!! I will destroy my firearms before I give it to them! WAKE THE F@#$ UP PEOPLE AND LETS DO SOMETHING ABOUT THIS!!!!!!! ( 1 million people holding signs on Parliament Hill is a protest, 1 million people holding firearms on Parliament Hill is a revolt!! )

This is scary. Can they just arbitrarily decide to make any firearm prohibitied that's already been classified as non-restricted or restricted? What criteria do they have to prove it meets? Are T-97 owners entitled to any compensation?

We are becoming slaves to our government and, speaking for myself, increasingly afraid of our national police force.

We're only slaves if we don't fight back.

The nfa is talking to the gov't about this, canam is getting involved, and others are starting to organize. Stay on top of it - help out when you can. Write letters to the safety minister (Currently Vic Toews) and tell him you don't approve of this at all.

Don't just lay down and take it - we can fight back.

this is old news...... they did it to lots of us back in '91 and 92' there were lost of guns declared prohibited and turned in.....this has happened before..........

Maybe we should all go to the nearest MP office with unloaded and nonrestricted black rifles and just stand out on the street. Maybe that'll turn a few heads.

Look at all the rallies of rifle owners in the US showing up holding their guns in a peaceful demonstration. We need to organize something like this. We really do.

Buuuuuut this is canada and people don't give a s**t about showing some muscle and exercising their rights. Too bad.

??? WTF you are kidding right? Don't be a lemming let's voice our opinions. Write some letters, emails and let's set up a peaceful rally.

Confiscation

After reviewing the supressor thread and this thread, it shows me that we have not learned how to combat this issue. We are lead to believe that we have figured things out on how to deal with this but we haven't. I agree that we need to write letters but we need a plan.

I, for one, am not a leader...

But if someone was to organize a rally. I would make a point to travel there and support that rally. I would love to see a lawfully armed rally to stand up for our rights. :)
