T97 Sniper - Is it worth it?

Asuming it's legit (hard to tell from so few photos) and that the bore is decent, that's ballpark for the US market.
I think I would try to get it down into the $3000-3500 range which I think is fair in Canada. Realistically though, you'll never see another for sale again in this country, so do whatever "speaks" to you.

That is a beauty. If a beat up No 4 Mark 1(T) can sell for $3500.00, I think that Japanese rifle is worth the asking price. Seems to me there are not many around with the mum, and with a matching scope. It is matching, isn't it?
I would think a rifle like that must have been stripped from a dead Jap. The Emperor’s henchmen were loath to turn in their guns with the symbol of imperial tyranny intact. They rubbed out the mum, like Japanese historians have wiped out the record of their horrific war crimes. It would be interesting to hear the story, how one of the faithful disciples of Hirohito was snuffed out by a “lazy, stupid” American soldier.
I bet it will be worth a lot more that the asking price in the near future. It looks like a great peace of history one might never come across again, except in a museum.

A one-of is very hard to price. For comparisons, a beater No.4T is pushing $3000, a made-up M1D will be $1000-1500, and a stock G43 $2000-3000. I will not dignify the made-up Moisin-Nagant sniper rifles with a valuation. There is very little common knowledge of Japanese rifles. Whatever you pay will be whatever you think is appropriate. If you buy it, you will have the only one. And ... all things sniper appreciate in market value.
