T97 used prices ??

Seems like a good opportunity to buy a new one for around !400-1500 and then list it on the E.E for a grand or even less.... your social credit score will go through the roof!

LOL...you know you never get back your Taxes, shipping & accessories you put on......At least "I" never do.
You kiss that Goodbye the second you walk out the door.

Never is an absolute and seldom applies.... I've seen T97's as low as $700 but that was before the 10-20% inflation that has started and not ended..... so that would likely bring the $700 deal up to $900 just to keep up with inflation.... If I was you , I'd consider new if it's only a couple hundred more.... or wait and pounce when you see someone post it for a pre inflation used price.

Prior to OIC and Covid bs I snagged a G1 for 500. Cheapest I had seen before or since. Keep enough that I couldn't resist grabbing one even though I had had one before knew they were garbage. Lol

The $1,800 one on the ee is because it comes with the rare yma 95 scope, although I do feel that even that is slightly inflated. I would pay 500 for that scope if the opportunity presented itself, but to be quite Frank you'd have to be quite a hardcore collector/cloner to want to pay $1800 for the package, because quite frankly it's not a very desirable gun to shoot, and few people would figure it's a worthy enough Crown Jewel to spend that much money on.

Fair market for the Gen 1 carry handle model is in the $750-900 area pending condition at this point in my opinion. They are not really rare but they are becoming more uncommon as they have been discontinued and a growing number of them have been bastardized or modernized with upgrades and mods.

"No such thing as gouging."

$1800 for a used Gen 1 ????

Gouging implies charging too much for a product that someone desperately needs, but cannot find elsewhere. What was toilet paper going for by resellers during the pandemic blitz? Or N95 masks? Gas generators after a hurricane? When someone asks too much for an item that sells at the store for less, it may be the buyer’s fault for not looking around. If the price is too much, buy elsewhere or buy something else. The EE almost always seems to ask too much, so buy elsewhere.

I am in the market for used T97 rifle.
So what I have found is used Gen 1 for $950 up to $1800 LOL
The $950 gen 1 is plus shipping,,,,so close to $1,000 bucks.

Yet you can buy a BRAND NEW gen 3 that has all the bugs worked out for $1199
Its not like they are scarce or you cant Find them. Many dealers have them.

Are EE sellers really out of touch that bad ?? or are they Gouging other GNC members ?
I could understand the "ridiculous price inflation" if you couldn't buy a new one anymore......but you still can.

so why ?

Just spit balling here, but with a private sale there is no real record.

lone ranger, i knew there was more to the $1800 story then you made it out to be. when left out the details you made the seller look like a gouger and a con. if the scope is rare then its only worthy what another is willing to pay.

No I didnt.! I simply posted the" Real asking prices as listed" . NO false information as you can plainly see.
These are actual listed prices for T97 rifles for any GNC member to check.

I asked a question like this in regards to some guns on the exchange here a little while ago, and received a lot of the same responses....I thought I was missing something, and there are some valid points to buying used, and yes, a seller can ask what they want- it just seems that if someone wants to actually sell, instead of pretend to, they would be what seems more realistic in their pricing. But to each their own! Glad you ended up finding a good deal on one!

yes.I agree. and thanks.

I don't think there is any price gouging with even the Gen 1.
They aren't available in store anymore (last price was $999 on them I believe), and most guns have gone way up since COVID situation and OIC ban.
So only option is to buy new G3 ($1200+tax/ship), or buy used. If someone doesn't care if they get a G1, 2 or 3 then a $900 cash T97 is already $300-$400 off retail.
The G1 has some appeal to military collectors as it mimics the Chinese QBZ-95 assault rifle, 2 and 3 are better for functionality but have major appearance changes.

you obviously haven't checked the stores. there is plenty for sale. On line & Local.

PS...If your looking for one to buy, check out Northern Elite or Frontier, both site sponsors.

I meant Gen 1 are unavailable which can explain why the used prices are not lower. They are the only one that resemble the QBZ-95 in appearance, so good for collectors of Chinese militaria.
I am thinking of getting one, store near me has them for $1200 + tax. Either that or the T81, too many interesting things to buy and not enough money for everything LOL :(
