I think a right hand mag change would be every bit as akward as a left hand change due to where the gun is positioned on your right shoulder. You would have to remove the gun from your shoulder to do it. The left hand changes arent that bad. If I didnt screw up the insertion on the last change it would have been a very fast set. As well, releasing the bolt by hand isnt a big deal either. It works fine. BUT... the eternal "but"... the tavor is better at both.
Also, little update. My makeshift cheek riser was PERFECT. The dot on the red dot sat directly in the middle of the optic with my cheek comfortably resting on the riser. The velcro may not be sturdy enough to hold up to hard use. But for this jkind of shooting it was fine. A stronger attachment will be necessary for sure.
The T-97 shoots better then the Tavor, most people prefer its looks and ergos AND its 1/3 the price...
Shot mine today. ~150 rounds ZERO issues and grapefruit size 10 shot groups.
Things I would like to see, a thinner front post, a bigger peep and a goose neck mount to allow the mounting & cowitnessing of a red dot like the EOTech EXP2-0 or 3-0 between the carry handle & the front sight.
The location of the safety & mag release on the T97 leave alot to be desired, to be honest my Tavor is more user friendly in that regard...
BUT, that price point is something else for a bullpup that is non-restricted!
Would I recommend buying one? HELL YES! Would I sell my Tavor, HELL NO!
I love 'em both!!!
Cheers
Jay
Well I've been on the fence long enough. Decided to grab one next time they come up. Not in a huge rush but anyone know if any sponsors have any stock left after filling their pre orders?
North silva has posted that there is no frt number for Canada Ammo's supposed version. Lots of guys have been on their pre-order list fr years. All of them ?
1050$ is a little overpriced IMO.
Especially considering that CanAm is selling theirs 850$ (will be in in few months)
CanadaAmmo said:As I have said before, current ETA is this fall. Could it be winter? Sure.
If you are the type of person that needs the gun now, I suggest buying it from a dealer that has it in stock, and taking the price hit once ours land. At least you'll have had a while to get your moneys worth out of it by then. The $849 pre-sale price stands, even if we sell them at a loss, because that is what we promised to do.
We have a huge number of containers coming this fall.
We have been dealing with these since 2008 and they are just another gun for us now. The honeymoon is long over.
I will not be posting updates again until they are on the warehouse floor. So bookmark this post so you can refer back if you want an update next week.
North Silva wants to sell theirs. Not a reference for info about their competitors...
See below
I'd wait a few months to get it at a fair price.
Rifle clearly not worth 1.05k
