Two detracting factors are the position of the safety and mag changes, which may limit the action shooting potential, but I'll try to rock it anyway. The updated Chinese army fixed both shortcomings but hasn't been authorized for export. This is more of a rough bush gun, while the Tavor is more of a beauty queen. There's room in a heart for both if you can afford it

Lol just to be clear: thats not me, thats not my gun, that's not my range. I just see interesting things and share them.

And will the T97 threaten the position of the Tavor in my safe?

No.

I'd say I'm fairly attached to my Tavor.

Trust me...anyone who owns a Tavor will not love this rifle anywhere near as much (but that doesn't mean they won't buy one).

Am I the only one who isn't excited about this gun? I think its hideous.. The Tavor is worth the extra 1500$ to me because it doesn't look like a cheap plastic toy.. Theres no detail in this gun, its all plain plastic, the front grip is really ugly. I realize that it probably will be fun to shoot and it is a good price point, but it sure is ugly! I guess call me shallow

Can't say it does much for me either, comparing it to a Tavor is like comparing a Yugo to a Porsche. They are both firearms and bullpups but that's really where the similarity ends. I'm sure it will be a fun toy and much easier for many to swallow than the price tag of the Tavor.
