T97NSR Barrel flaw Vote

I wish the T97 came in 7.62x51....barrel flaw or not, I'd buy one!

Mine has a slight gouge in it. I really don't care at all. It's not a safety issue, it's still accurate (I highly doubt it effects accuracy at all), and the gun runs like a dream. I'm enjoying it more than my AR, in fact I think I might even buy another one. People are turning this into a way bigger deal than it actually is, and I'm sure it'll be fixed for the next batch. Talk about first world problems. Man alive people..

latent defect: n. a hidden flaw, weakness or imperfection in an article which a seller knows about (i'll give the benefit of the doubt about this one), but the buyer cannot discover by reasonable inspection.

A latent defect is a problem that, if you had known before purchase:

You wouldnt have bought the article;
Or
You would have paid less.


I think this applies perfectly here. Its all about what you would have done if you knew about this before purchasing.
I think its safe to assume that a reasonable person would have AT LEAST paid less because of this defect.
I think NS is showing bad faith by stating that this is not a defect.

Bull. A grand is not cheap. I can buy a good old American rifle for $500 and expect it to be well made, accurate and shoot well for 50 years. Only on CGN is a grand 'cheap.' Only here is $3000 a minimum price for quality.

Well, my previous experience with North Sylva has led me to avoid any product that they are responsible for, and this is another one I am glad I didn't jump on.

If I wasn't one infraction away from a Ban, I would go into full details, but lets hope how they handled this is remembered!!!

It's actually a $400 gun sold for a grand. The quality of any $400 should be sufficient. Nobody has to 'd buy' a gun for $3000 to get Quality Control. Sheesh.

What makes it "actually a $400 gun"?

I hear comments like this, but never a consistent way of pricing firearms.

That's the unit cost, albeit bought in mass. Take a guess how much AKs retailed in Canada in the day even factoring in profit.

why not? Not like there are high labor costs, and the gun is mostly plastic, with some simple aluminum and steel parts. Would be a very cheaply manufactured gun. NS probably paid less then $100 a unit for these.
And making reference to it being half the price of a Tavor would be ok if it was a Nork Tavor clone.....but its not. Maybe they should have cloned a Tavor instead of rushing this flawed POS to market...lol
