Any opinions on this scope? It'll be going on my 20" AR just for shooting out to 300 at the farthest, but usually at 100 though. I may have a great deal lined up for one, with the amber crosshair reticle. I would prefer one with red but this is used so I can't be picky, and the price is right... I have used the ACOG/DOC combo before and I absolutely love the Trijicon which is why I'm leaning towards buying this one, but is this a lower end ACOG and is the reticle color decent? I've never used amber before.

Thanks!
Mark

I'm an ACOG lover as you know already. My background is from the TA01 NSN, TA31 donut and TA31 chevron.

I'm not sure how the yellow will appear at paper targets at 300m. If your bullseye is black enough to give you the contrast, they you are good to go. Remember, I'm only talking about a ONE way range. Your ACOG was designed for a TWO way range. Enjoy the ACOG addiction.

Cheers,
Barney

I like the fact that they're designed for two way. That's half the appeal for me. If I wanted a gun and optic combo that was spectacular for putting holes in paper only, then I'd have a ridiculous powered scope on some riced up bolt action with a ridiculous stock. However I like my AR because it's a black rifle like I use at work so I can build muscle memory with it and I want and optic that suits it... something that I can use at work if I decide I like it enough.

Thanks for the vote of confidence in this one though! :)
