I am wondering who out there is welding the piece on the cz 858 bolt carriers? and does a neat job? I have heard a couple of names and sent a couple of pm's (Broncoo for one) but waiting for a response.

I would like to have a left side charging handle as well. If anyone can help, let me know. Please nobody imply I have not searched. I have been looking through this site all day.

Would I end up in jail if I tried to import one from a czech website?

No problems ordering from the czech repub. Try broncoo out and then go from there

If you get a left hand handle on a carrier I'd make sure it's milled that way and not welded on. Apparently the metal does not take to anything welding on to it, I had an Nea carrier with left hand bolt and it cracked right at the weld and basically was going to fall off with a few more shots. I've heard horror stories of the handles flying off into the shooters face upon rearward travel and causing some serious injuries, not cool.

That sucks. Thanks for the advice!

It seems very ambiguous. Under $100 seems to be the key and no mechanical parts duh?

The $100 restriction indeed only applies to parts coming from the US. It has to do with their export regulations.

Zahal is obviously not bound by that.

That's good cause I ordered a bunch of crap from him too. What if I want to order some spare parts from a czech website? Things like springs, piston, misc parts. I don't know how reliable those sites are but you can order just about any part including bolts, carriers (left handed) and anything else. They are expensive as they are in euros.
