does anyone have one of these or know of their quality? I'm thinking of buying one, but cannot inspect it before buying. $ 60 for a 10 shot extension for a 870 express.
any help would be appreciated.

Ive had a chote and have a tacstar now. the chote is 80 though.
Chote has cleaner edges but the tacstar has a narrower thread to it
and looks much more slimlined. both are great. To me it wouldnt matter
which one i have. good buy

I have the tacstar, love it every bit :)

I had one ordered, but then Dlask came through with their 12.5" barrel so it went short:

It's sure needed it. 12 slugs in there and she sure is damn front heavy ;)

The Choate is one piece of machined steel like the Wilson Combat extension. The Tacstar is 2 pieces bonded together with epoxy. The threaded nut portion has been known to break off the tacstar units, especially if you use a support bracket to torque it into position as the tacstars tend to be off a few mm due to the bonding process.

The Choate is a FAR SUPERIOR design, though for many people the Tacstar will be adequate.

For a bracket, I highly recommend the Uncle Mike's Law Enforcement model.

Where did you get the pistol grip from? I've seen a guy
with a grip like that on his 11-87 turkey hunting gun. It
looked real comfortable to shoot.

Instead of starting a new thread: Does anyone else have the tacstar 8 shot extension? It adds 3 shots to the Rem 870. What length of barrel do I need to make it flush with a 3 shot extension? Is a 20 inch barrel going to be flush with a 3 shot Tacstar extension?

The 870 to AR15 stock adapter is a Brobee, and there are quite a few who make them (well, not quite as nice, but you know).

The rear pistol grip is a Fobus/First Samco G27 AR15 grip, and the front pistol grip is a Tacstar grip.

A 20" barrel is what is needed for the extension (8 shot or + 3) to be flush with the muzzle.
